New Year’s Eve Parties Are STUPID!!!

I have never, for as long as I was aware of the “ball dropping”, understood why people party on New year’s Eve.

     What’s the point?

All this celebrating the start of a new year? A new month?

Why don’t we have these parties on July 31 when July ends and August begins?

On New Year’s Eve, people  get all bundled up and take to the streets of their major city, and count down with a clock to the new year. Then when the time changes the date changes and then all sorts of noise from noise makers, screaming, shit flying in the air, kissing, and drinking just because the calendar changes.

     What for?

Too much hype over stupid shit stuff.

“The whole point of New Year’s Eve is for reflection. You till under the shit of the last year and you plant the seeds of renewal and hope for the upcoming year. It’s all about gardening.”

I read this on another blog and thought of the sub title of your blog, it’s fitting, huh?

Happy New Year, whether you go to a party or not!

I am in full agreement and think New Year’s Eve parties are retarded! I personally hate New Year’s Eve and all the talk of resolutions-lose weight, quit smoking, stop being an ass, etc…What about January 1 will make all those things so much easier to accomplish? I don’t get it, never have.

It’s just an excuse for someone to not be an asshole, start a diet, not smoke, drink, eat, start exercising, going to church, spend time with kids, not beat the wife/husband, do a kind deed, etc. etc. for at least the first 12 hours or a full a day at the beginning of the year. Come January 2nd, all that shit gets tossed out the window.
